How I approach the work

Good architecture is mostly about making trade-offs explicit. I bring the whole picture into view — business constraints, technical debt, team capability, and cost — then design something the team can actually build and maintain, not a diagram that looks impressive and ships nothing. I stay hands-on because the details are where architectures succeed or fail.

Lately much of that work has centered on getting AI out of the demo stage. The interesting problems aren't the models; they're the retrieval quality, the guardrails, the identity and data boundaries, and the cost of running it across clouds. That's the connective-tissue work I've been doing for two decades, pointed at a new frontier.
